1984 Movies Part One (There's so many good ones!)

1984 was another very good year for movies! Check 'em out! Great entertainment for the 10 year old girl I was back then. Totally!












Romancing the Stone was action packed and totally appropriate for a 10 year old, right? I mean there were only a couple of romantic scenes, a little smokage of some weed, booze and violence. Other than that, it was totally good clean fun.















I heart Jake Ryan.















Didn't you just love Louis Skolnick? The Tri-Lambs were awesome! Can you tell I'm a nerd?















Is it weird that I remember hearing the song "Cruel Summer" by Bananarama in this movie? Also, Wax On...Wax Off....Come on, you know I had to say it.

1985 movies (5th grade)

SO,yep, these are the movies that came out in the year 1985. I'll admit some of these movies may have been a bit mature for a 10-11 year old, but I could pass for 13 years old. Isn't this the year that the PG-13 rating appeared? I've got some funny stories about some of these movies. Isn't it funny about the things we remember from being a kid? Enjoy!










This is the only movie I ever remember seeing in the movie theater with my Dad. We never went to another movie my entire life. I can remember him wanting to go see "Throw Momma From the Train" and I had no interest in seeing that at all. I kind of wish I had gone to see it with him now, so I could at least say I've seen 2 movies with my Dad.

















My Mom took me to go see this movie in 1985. I will never forget this. Remember the scene where they are all partying and drinking, sending people in the closet to make out and pouring whipped cream all over each other? My Mom yanked me out of the movie theater seat and made us leave deeming the movie X rated.

















One of my absolute favorite movies from 1985! I loved when they ruined Natalie's coming out party! WAKE UP THE NEIGHBORHOOD!
















This has got to be one of the worst movies EVER! But, I wanted to see it because Madonna was in it. This was before I figured out that she was going to be a badass singer, but a terrible actress.

Oh man, this movie was absolutely hilarious. If you haven't seen it, it's a must! Be prepared to laugh! Yes, I would consider this movie cheesy, but to be fair it is from 1985.














OMG, who didn't LOVE this movie? The Breakfast Club is such a classic!

6th grade movies (yes I'm backtracking)

I realized when I got to my 9th grade year, that the 80s were over, so I am now going backwards from 6th grade to 1st grade movies. (1986-1980). I should've started with 1980 to begin with but whatever. Here's a look at memorable movies from 1986, my 6th grade year. I own every single one of these movies and find myself watching them on a regular basis; that is except one. Can you guess which movie I rarely watch?












This is without a doubt my most favorite movie in the whole wide world. I love it and I could watch it everyday. For those of you who haven't seen it and who have access to Netflix, stream it into your queue and watch it TODAY!!!

This is such a classic movie! Tom Hanks and Shelley Long have such great chemistry! Very funny!

















Another favorite movie of mine! This was when Corey Haim was still innocent! Kerri Green and Charlie Sheen were also in another movie together called "Three For the Road." Remember that one?

Remember this movie? For some reason I remember that dog with the cone around its neck and didn't Demi Moore sing in a night club to save her grandfather's house?
















I loved this movie! It was so unique and fun, but I have to admit that David Bowie did freak me out just a little bit.

9th grade movies

Moving right along from 7th and 8th grade...now it's time for my freshman year. The year is 1989 and I'm in the 9th grade. These are the movies I remember.















How crazy was this movie? I don't know which memory stands out the most, "I love my dead gay son.", Martha Dumptruck or "CORN NUTS!"

8th grade movies

I had so much fun with the 7th grade movie topic from yesterday that I thought I would continue the fun with movies from my 8th grade year. 1988 was another great year for movies (at least I thought so at 14 years old.) Enjoy!













I have no idea why I liked this movie so much because it was the definition of cheeseball. Still, it was 1988 so whatever.
















I will always remember the chopsticks scene when they danced on that giant piano and the song, "Hot in the City" being played as Tom Hanks stuck his head out of the roof of the limo. What was the name of that machine? Zoltar?

I know I've mentioned "License to Drive" before, too. But, seriously, every teenager in 1988 saw this movie, didn't they? "An innocent girl, a harmless drive, what could possibly go wrong?" EVERYTHING!!!!















Cocktail! This was such a good movie! I really thought Tom Cruise was hot back then, too! Today? Not so much.















Did you see "Mystic Pizza?" Such a good movie and I believe it was Julia Roberts first film ever.
















Remember "She's Having a Baby?" Not the best movie in the world, but still one I remember from 8th grade.

I was 13 years old in the year 1987 and there were some pretty cool movies that came out that year. Here's a tribute to the movies that kept me entertained in the 7th grade.










3 Men and a Baby!















Adventures in Babysitting! Even though I saw this in the theater, I can still remember renting this over and over, too! VHS of course!

















Oh man, this movie was the coolest! I can recite this movie word for word exactly without missing a beat. Who knew Ronald Miller would turn into McDreamy?















I know I mentioned this movie the other day, but I cannot name 1987 movies without naming "Some Kind of Wonderful." MISS AMANDA JONES!

I can remember everyone being hooked on V.C. Andrews books after this movie came out in 1987.
