Guess who's sick?

Well, my husband was sick all last week with the crud and now guess who has it?

If you guessed me then you'd be correct.

I feel like crap today. It's funny how the good Lord kept me well the entire time Alan was ill, but just when he was beginning to feel normal again....BAM

It's my turn. Oh, well. I guess I'll get by.

It just doesn't seem fair though. When men are sick, they are such BIG babies and expect us to take care of them. Who takes care of us when we are ill? Sure, Alan will go to the drugstore and get me anything I may need, but men don't have the compassion that women have in any shape or form.

I didn't start feeling bad until Saturday evening so I was lucky enough to feel ok for my shopping adventure with Mom. We had a good time!!!! We went to several thrift stores and ate at a great catfish place. I miss seeing my Mom so much. The day just flew by when we were together.

Our Baylor Bears weren't able to make it into the Final Four. :( They were beaten by Duke. However, there is still hope for the Lady Bears!!! Fingers crossed!

I noticed I have a couple of new followers!! That's awesome! Welcome!!!


My amazing friend Meg sent me a very cool happy mail gift last week and between Alan being sick and my lack of uploading skills, I have not been able to post about this amazing gift. She sent me an entire book about toys and other stuff from the 80s that rocked! It's called Just Can't Get Enough! I plan on posting a pic very soon. I tried to grab one off of the internet just like I do all of my other pics, but for some reason, my computer isn't very cooperative today. It's most likely operator error, I am feeling like dog crap today. Anyhoo, a BIG thank you to my BFF, Meg!
I love you dearly. You listen to me when I need to talk, you make me laugh and most of all you get my sense of humor. I can't wait to hear about your romantic weekend.

Time Machine Tuesday

Hi everyone! It's time machine Tuesday! I haven't done one of these 80's post for a couple of weeks so I thought it was about time to do another one! I love the 80's!

Some people are so GROSS!

I just can't even believe what I witnessed today at the doctors office. I went to the doctor today simply for a routine check-up and I literally almost got sick while waiting to be called back to a room. I hate going to the doctor especially when I'm not sick, but I needed to go for a yearly check-up. This guy comes in and sits down right next to me when there are plenty of other seats available across the waiting area. He sits right next to me and he kept leaning in my direction...it was very strange. This guy STUNK so terribly bad. I mean BAD! Let me take just a moment to describe this fellow to you. Ready? Here goes.


Greasy hair, zits all over his neck that were bleeding, strong pungent odor most likely from lack of showering, snot running down his upper lip (which by the way he kept wiping with the neckline of his stained t-shirt), pants which appeared to be filthy and quite possibly having cat urine and/or poo stains on the pants pockets. I could go on but I've probably given you enough of this disturbing mental image.

Now, let me say this...I understand this guy was most likely ill, hence being at the doctors office; however, there is absolutely no excuse for poor hygiene. I'm going out on a limb here in saying that I bet my doctor had a few choice words for this guy about his appearance and his obvious negligence regarding personal cleanliness. YUCK!

So, now that I've grossed you all out, how are y'all today?

I haven't forgotten about my blog I swear

I have been so busy lately that I just haven't found the time to write here on my blog. I have hardly had time to read others blogs much less write. Alan has been off for the last 3 days and we have been enjoying each others company. Alan works his butt off and I hardly ever see him during the week or so it seems. It has been nice having him home with me.

We went out to eat a couple of times and went to the mall. Alan got a haircut and we even took a nice drive out to Little Elm (way North Dallas up by Frisco). Oh yeah, and my sweet husband surprised me with a quick trip to get a soft serve ice cream cone. That's my absolute favorite treat! It doesn't take much to make me happy!
Not only that but Alan just bought me over $50 worth of vintage stickers on ebay. I simply can't wait to get those in hand and put them in with my sticker collection. You all know how much I love stickers~ I wish I could find a sticker store.

I did go to Bath and Body Works today because I had a coupon for a free product with purchase. I took full advantage of their buy 2 get 1 free plus I got another 1 free with my coupon. I got all four products in the Sweet Pea scent. They of course attacked me and Alan as soon as we walked in...I hate that. Can't we just shop in peace please? No one likes that. They tried to sell me on the new Sweet Pea scent and I'm not buying it, I like the old one. Not changing. Nope. It's my favorite.

I really don't have anything super exciting to write about but I wanted to check in and let you know I'm still here, just hibernating I guess. I'll try to post more this week. Love ya.

Great weekend

Hey everyone! I have had a wonderful weekend. My Mom came to see me on Friday and she took Alan and I out to eat at On the Border. YUM! Then, Mom and I went to about 4 thrift stores and had a blast! It is so good to spend time with Mom, but it goes by too fast.

Alan and I went to Waco on Saturday and took his parents to a Baylor basketball game. We beat the University of Texas 92-77. Woohoo! Sic em Bears! Afterwards, we went to visit Alan's granny in the nursing home. She is 94!

Alan's mom made homemade chicken and dumplings, red beans, broccoli rice casserole and key lime pie. We ate hearty! :)

Today has been very relaxing for us. It's raining outside so we've pretty much just cuddled on the couch and watched a little tv. I did catch up on some laundry so I was a little productive today.

I picked up some nice things for some great girls this weekend. Get ready for some goodies, ladies!
