Sunday Stroll Down Memory Lane

Did you ever say this? If you grew up in the 80s, I bet you did.

Remember the store "Millers Outpost"?

I can remember recording many many songs off of the radio on this tape recorder.

Eddie Money!! "I Wanna Go Back and Do it All Over..." Great song!

Prince Charles and Lady Diana's Wedding!

Remember back in 1987 when they rescued Baby Jessica from the well?

"We Are Family, I Got All My Sisters With Me!"

Stevie Wonder's hit "Part Time Lover"!!!! Loved it!

Sweet Pickles Books were so great for us late 70s and early 80s kids. My favorite was "The Goose Goofs Off".

You know how I feel about 80s stickers. Enough said.

Velcro tennis shoes! Was this genius or just laziness?

"Here we are face to face, a couple of silver spoons".

Have an awesome Sunday with your families!

Flashback Friday

Thanks for hanging in there with me yesterday. I needed to say what I needed to say. Now, on with our show... it's Flashback Friday!!!!!

"They're Here!"

Tv Movies on ABC! Those tv movies were always so dramatic or at least it felt that way back then.

The World Looks Mighty Good to Me, Cause Tootsie Rolls are All I See!
Whatever it is I think I See Becomes a Tootsie Roll To Me!

Boones Farm Strawberry Hill...Did you drink this stuff in high school? I did. Ew.

CB Radios were like cell phones back in the day. I know they were generally meant for truckers, but a lot of people had CB Radios in their personal cars and trucks back then.

Remember taking class field trips? Those were the best (unless you forgot to have your mom sign the permission slip and you got stuck in the cafeteria all day with the janitor.) No, that never happened to me, but that would suck huh?

Awesome song. You can't hear this song and not think of Back to the Future. Impossible.

Look at those pants. There's just no excuse for wearing those. EVER. NO excuse.

Remember this Dial A Design Toy?

I loved Family Matters! Such a great TGIF show!

Were you a "Bow Head"?

Have a supa fly fresh flashback Friday!

So, here's the deal

Things are kind of bothering me lately and I want to voice my opinion. It is my blog afterall. :)

Blogging is such a wonderful avenue to express yourself and meet new people. I've enjoyed blogging and making new friends. It's been a great way to escape from my daily grind. Especially since most of my posts are 80s related anyway. (Hey, that's what I love!) I plan on continuing my love fest for the 80s and posting regular blasts from the past.

With that being said, here's the deal...

I'm noticing some flakiness in the blogworld. Not cool.

Also, I love charities. I consider myself an extreme advocate for several charities including but not limited to March of Dimes, Susan G. Komen For The Cure, Boys and Girls Clubs of America...I believe in donating your time and efforts to raise money for these charities. It's very admirable.
However, I cannot donate to everyone's causes. I would love to, but I just can't. I don't want to donate to one friend and then not be able to donate to another, so I just don't donate at all. This does not mean that I don't care or that I don't support your causes.

A few months ago, I considered donating to a certain person's cause and I even told them on their blog that I was putting something together for them and I never (not even one time) got a thank you. So, I just decided that if they didn't have the social graces to say thank you, then that was my segway to back out.

The same goes for these classes, online classes, etc. I would love to take many of these classes and learn new crafty things, but who has time (or the money for that matter) to take 15 classes and still run a household and meet career deadlines? I know I don't.

I truly do love my blog friends. You guys are amazing and I honestly would do anything for you if it was within my reach. I don't like what I've been seeing lately with some blog posts. (Again, it's your blog, you go ahead and post your little hearts out with your hate and negativity), don't let me get in your way!

When I hear stories of people making promises that they don't keep, people flaking out on good friends of mine, people using others just to get more followers...it pisses me off. This kind of stuff is really happening out there people.

Please don't be mad at me for expressing my opinions. I know for a fact that I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Now that that's been said, I am going to continue with my wayback, throwback, flashback posts and I hope you all have fun reading my blog and getting a glimpse of the awesomeness that was THE 80s!! :)

I know some of you still have K Marts in your towns, but we don't have one in or around Dallas anymore. I remember going there with my Mom in the 80s.

David Lee Roth!!! I can just see him in those red leather pants performing "Jump"!

I loved the Nesquik bunny!

You are going to officially think I'm crazy, but I still love shag carpet. I don't have it in my house, but I really do love it.
