We went to Graceland, Little Rock and Hot Springs. Graceland was so cool. I'm very happy to have seen where Elvis lived and get the photos of that awesome mansion. We toured the planes, automobile museum...the whole shabang! We ate some unbelievable BBQ at this place in Memphis called The BarBQ Shop. The ribs were to die for. We also toured Sun Records, went to lots of museums, and site seeing. We were going non stop from sun up to sundown.
We went to the Bill Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock and it was very interesting. Most of you know that Alan and I are extremely conservative Republicans, but we couldn't pass up visiting this library. We went through lots of security, purse on the conveyor belt...much like the airport. Secret service men everywhere. No cameras were allowed, but once we came upon the oval office, there was a nice officer who asked us if we had a digital camera on us. We nodded yes indeed we did have one. He took a quick photo of Alan and I in front of the replica oval office. Apparently this is the exact way the oval office appeared when Clinton was in office. Very cool.
Hot Springs was so nice. The most beautiful place to visit, I would go back in a heartbeat. We stayed in a fabulous hotel with arial views of Hamilton Lake and gorgeous mountainsides. We ate dinner on the water at Fishermans Wharf and it was delicious. We toured downtown and went up in a 1250 feet high tower to check out all of Hot Springs. Simply breathtaking. I can't wait to show y'all some photos. We are very happy to be home.
In the meantime, I am jonesing to get out an 80s post, so please enjoy.

The golden ticket from a Wonka Bar! I know this is 70s, but I can remember watching this movie over and over when I was a little girl in the 80s.

Remember Flintstones Chewable Vitamins? I loved those!

Bottle Caps! Soda flavored candy! YUM! The grape soda flavored candy was my fave.

Remember drinking Hi-C when you were a kid? It came in those huge cans.

Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton singing "Islands in the Stream"...does it get much better than that?

I loved Little House on the Prairie! I even liked that mean ole Nellie Olsen.

Remember the $10,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark which eventually went to the $100,000 Pyramid. I can still hear that game show theme in my head.

Remember this album cover for the band Poison?

Three Men and a Baby!!! One of my most favorite movies of the 80s.

There they are...the 3 Heathers and Veronica

Who didn't love playing Hopscotch?

Lime Chiffon Doll from the Strawberry Shortcake characters. I have a dear friend who just sent me a Lime Chiffon figurine!!! Thanks, Tracy!
Have a totally awesome Labor Day Everyone!
