Country Music

I was going to list my top 10 all time favorite Country music songs but I couldn't narrow it down to just 10. So, this list is my top 21 favorite Country music songs. Most of these songs are old school, in fact, they are all old school with the exception of one Lady Antebellum song.

I grew up listening to Country music. I remember my family watching television shows like Hee Haw and Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters Show. These songs are forever favorites of mine with a couple of them having a deeper meaning since they were played at our wedding.

I really tried to narrow it down to 20, but alas I had to settle for top 21!

Can you be busy and lazy at the same time?

I had a fantastic long weekend with my sweet hubby, but we didn't really do a whole lot. We basically enjoyed each other and ran a few errands and went out to eat, played some Monopoly (hey, we know how to party!) and we watched the Superbowl! Go Saints! We are super thrilled that The Saints pulled out the win. That interception made by Tracy Porter was AH-mazing. You should've seen Alan, he was jumping up and down like a kid throwing a tantrum. It truly was a sight let me tell you.

Anyway, like I said, we were busy spending quality time together but we didn't actually do anything profound.

Alan took a vacation day on Friday and we went to the post office. Whooooo. Big fun! Then he took me out to eat at a new burger joint called Mooyah.

It was delicious! I had a junior burger and Alan had a turkey burger and we split an order of french fries. I'm always a little nervous about trying something new, I guess it's because I'm a creature of habit. I usually order the same thing I always order when we go to various restaurants. I like what I like.

We then went to Tuesday Morning. I am officially in love with this store. For those of you who don't know what Tuesday Morning is: it's a fabulous discount store where you can buy department store merchandise for upto 50-80% off of retail prices. I bought a ton of stickers and craft supplies and Alan bought some toys. Yes, I said toys. My husband is a large child, but I love him!

I just finished the book "Unsweetined" by Jodie Sweetin and it was very good. I would recommend the book if you like to read memoirs. The highlights of her book are her struggle with addiction and how she overcame it, as well as some inside scoop about the sitcom Full House.

My loving husband just surprised me with the 1st and 2nd seasons of the ever popular sitcom "Too Close For Comfort". Some of you probably won't remember this show, but I loved it!

I also got a new computer game that makes me smile. I swear I am still a kid.

Also, I want to take a moment to thank Ashley from Almost Exactly. She was kind enough to make me a super cute button for my blog. I had a vision of what I wanted and she created it for me!! Thank you, Ashley! Please feel free to add my button to your blog if you so desire.

I will leave you with one more childhood memory. Remember this?

Childhood Memories Part Two

Didn't get enough 80's fix from me earlier? Well, here's another installment of totally awesome 80's memories. Enjoy!

Hope these pictures brought back some great memories for you!

Childhood Memories Part One

I am seriously thinking of starting a new blog and devoting the entire blog to 80's material. I would definitely want to keep this blog as well so that I can still keep my friends updated on what's going on in my life. I am just so drawn to the decade I grew up in and I suppose that just makes me seem old fashioned and stuck in a rut, but I can't help it, I just love the 80's so much.

I'm not quite sure why I think I can handle another blog with all that I have on my plate right now. No, I don't get up and go to a place of employment everyday like most of you, but I do work. I work hard. Whether it's working on my novel, e-bay or household chores, I keep myself busy.

Would anybody be interested in reading a blog entirely about The 80's? I'm thinking of doing in depth posts about all things 80's like music, toys, movies, tv shows, fashion, fads. I would be open to any suggestions you may have as well.

I am going to leave you with a few childhood memories of mine. Hope you enjoy!

Of course, I have tons more, but I'll save them for another time. Have a wonderful day!

Which celebrity do you look like?

I'm not sure which blog I was reading when I saw this post the other day. I thought it would be fun to do a post of my own regarding celebrity lookalikes.

I have been told for many years that I look like a certain celebrity. I always kinda laughed it off. I can see the resemblence especially when I was a few pounds lighter. haha

I can only think of a couple of things this actress has been in and that's Pretty Woman and Just Shoot Me. So, the actress that people say I look like is...

Laura San Giacomo

Which celebrities look like you?

February 1st

For those of you who aren't superstitious, I apologize in advance. I am not normally superstitious myself, that is with ONE exception, FEBRUARY 1st.

This day has been a constant source of all things bad for me and my family. Many horrible things have happened on this day and it seems to carry on each year.

I do not leave the house on February 1st.

I prefer that none of my family does, but alas, Alan must go to work to provide for us and I do appreciate that. I just want him to come home in one piece.

Allow me to explain. Some horrible things have happened in my 35 years and they have all happened on this same day, different years of course.

For example:

My parents divorced on this day

We had a house fire on this day

My grandmother died on this day

Our family dog died on this day

I was in a car accident on this day

As well as some other things like flat tires, car broken into, plumbing problems, etc. This is not a joke. I am dead serious. All of these horrible things have happened to me on February 1st.

This is probably a HUGE coincidence. But, it certainly seems that I need to take every precaution to protect myself and my family from what may happen on this day.

Please pray that nothing bad happens today. If I need to put any of you on the prayer list, please let me know and I'll do just that!

Incidentally, do any of you have a day that is completely jinxed for you?
