Does This Make Sense?

Isn't it amazing how spot on our senses can be at times? I am constantly reminded of things through my sensory experiences. Sometimes they are good memories and sometimes not so good, but let's focus on the good right now!!! Examples? OK!

When I hear Richard Marx's song "Endless Summer Nights", it reminds me of going to Six Flags with my friends in the summer of 1988. No, that song isn't about hanging out with friends, but I remember hearing it that whole summer and that's what I was doing in the summer of '88 ~ going to Six Flags.

If I get a whiff of Coppertone suntan oil, it reminds me of hanging out with my friends at Wet N Wild during my high school days. We used to hang out right by the wave pool and look for hot guys. lol

I watched an episode of Who's The Boss the other day on cable and I was immediately taken back to 6th grade when I dressed in bright neon colors and wore twista beads.

A good friend of mine made banana pudding the other day and it tasted so much like the banana pudding my grandmother used to make. I can remember eating that banana pudding while watching old reruns of Dennis the Menace at her house.

It's amazing what a bottle of suntan lotion or a song can make you remember. I love holding onto all of these priceless precious memories.

What kind of things do you remember through your sensory experiences?

oh my gosh! it's crazy! I agree! sometimes i hear a song and it will remind me of a memory and it takes me back. Empty Heinz ketchup bottles remind me of when I was 8 and my dad had saved 3 empty ketchup bottles and didn't tell me and my siblings and he filled up a trash can with water and gave us empty ketchup bottles and we had a big water bottle fight. It was so fun. I don't know why but it was! haha.

my thing is when they change the scent of our old favorites. all of our old products now come in 100 diff varieties of scents and flavors, no more original like the original suave or fab. coppertone does smell the same though!
