I LOVED Sweet Valley High. In my 20s, I auditioned to write for them...twice. And was, of course, rejected twice. But it was fun. They sent an outline written by Francine Pascal, along with two books. It was good practice in trying to write in someone else's style and it taught me quite a bit about what an outline should look like. Ahhh...wouldn't that be the life? To come up with a series and just write the outlines and let others do all the work, paying them only $1,000 a book? Of course, then we'd still write something else on the side.
Found you through Tiffany's blog...she has your icon on her right panel and it drew my attention!
Yes, Francine had ghostwriters. She used Daniel Weiss Associates, at the time a huge "book packager" to do all of it. Daniel Weiss is now with St. Martin's Press. I interviewed a ghostwriter who wrote for the Nancy Drew series and I had information on ghostwriting for R.L. Stine. I think anything mass produced THAT much is probably ghostwritten, but usually in secret.
Hi, I'm Kristie. I am a stay at home wife with a dream of being a published author one day. When I get "writers block", I like to blog about childhood memories, so fasten your seatbelt. This is a blog about random thoughts, my love for the 70s, 80s and 90s and whatever else may come to mind. I'm glad you stopped by!
*I use many images in my blog and I always find them via Google search. If you know the origin of the photo and would like to give them credit, please advise* Thanks!
